COTON VILLAGE HALL

VOLUNTEER TREASURER WANTED

Our current Treasurer, Cathy Shaw, will be retiring soon and we are looking for a replacement. The Hall plays an important role in village life and you would have a key role in ensuring the smooth working of the Hall.

This unpaid job involves the following:

  1. Keeping basic books of account for the Hall, which is a limited company and registered charity
  2. Recording income and expenditure on Excel spreadsheets and reporting this to the board
  3. Paying bills and banking cash receipts from Hall events and reconciling bank statements with our records
  4. Liaising with the chartered accountant who prepares our formal annual accounts

The time commitment:

* typically 1 – 2 hours a week

* attendance at monthly board meetings, normally 1 – 1 1/2 hours on the second Monday of each month.

Qualifications: no formal accounting qualifications are required. Basic bookkeeping experience needed as well as familiarity with Excel.
