The Citydeal plans increase traffic through Coton

  •   The City Deal plans to close The Backs (Queens Road) and Grange Road to through traffic at peak times.  This will force the north-south traffic through Cambridge along the M11 and through Coton. This is already an increasing problem, but the predictions by Atkins suggest that the problem will increase by at least another 50%.
  • We need the plans to include Coton so that this doesn’t happen

The Citydeal plans increase commuter parking in Coton

  • Coton is already used by commuters to park and cycle.  The Citydeal plans to charge City employers for their employees’ parking  will shift the parking pressure to Coton – the nearest non-controlled parking West of the City.
  • We need to mitigate this at the same time as the changes are made.  Resident – only parking?

Please respond to the consultation with these concerns if you share them.   You can pick up a copy of the questionnaire at the Village Hall or the garden centre of complete the questionnaire on line at www.gccitydeal.co.uk/congestion.We have until 10th October to respond

The consultation asks about how we travel rather than what we think will be the impact proposed changes.  Helen Bradbury has shared her response for reference. Helens-response-to-consulation-1.jpg (205 downloads) and Helens-response-to-consulation-2.jpg (193 downloads)
